General Information About Submitting Questions to be asked of the Candidates
We welcome and encourage the public to submit questions to be asked of the candidates. The process below follows the PWC100 "Guidelines for Questions Committees" and are used for all C100 sponsored or co-sponsored candidate fora.
Questions for the candidates at a specific forum are submitted to the Questions Committee via the C100 website, using a Candidates’ Questions Form specific to forum name and date or by submitting question by email to the C100 Webmaster.
All questions will be reviewed by the appropriate Questions Committee before being forwarded to the Moderator to be asked of the candidates. Anyone can submit a question, but C100 members’ questions will be given priority.
Same question will be asked of all candidates in stated forum and questions will not be revealed until moderator presents them to the candidates at the event.
Submit a separate form for each forum date.
The webmaster forwards ALL questions to the Questions Committee Chair for consideration by the entire committee. Questions Committees have final determination of which questions will be asked at the event.
If a Forum date has a deadline for submitting questions, deadline will be printed on the form.
Questions submitted at the event, if allowed, will be reviewed by the Questions Committee following above procedures.
Above info is also on "Candidates' Questions Instructions" page HERE

Kerensa G. Sumers – D
As the daughter of a social worker and a Church Deacon, advocacy and public service have been in my veins since I was a young girl. I worked my way through college at The University of Mary Washington, led a career supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and am raising my son in Prince William County. I understand firsthand the challenges that too many families face in our community. I’ve organized and fought for worker’s rights, been an advocate for the vulnerable and underserved, and now I’m ready to continue my commitment of service to our community by representing Gainesville District on the Prince William County Board of Supervisors.
I have a Master's in Public Policy and Public Administration from Liberty University. I've actually worked in the private and public sectors for 15 years. I am a 7th generation Virginian. I'm married, and I'm a union organizer. My work history includes coordinating with Federal, State, and local governments and school systems to address issues. I'm a solutions focused leader with the training and ability to work with various groups.
Robert B. “Bob” Weir – R
I have been committed to public service and advocacy for the residents of the Gainesville District for two decades. The current level of discourse and disdain for public input is unacceptable to myself and every Gainesville District resident I have spoken to. I have a demonstrated record of achievement regarding the needs and desires of Prince William County residents and wish to continue working for you. Together, we must effectively address the issues facing our county and counter threats to our quality of life. We must rein in uncontrolled development, profligate spending, and runaway tax increases while improving the quality of our children's education and making public safety a top priority. With more than thirty years of elected and government experience, I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate complicated issues, work with all parties involved, and get things done. I may not always tell you what you want to hear but I will always tell you the truth and what you need to hear. Courage is telling it like it is, not what is politically expedient to say.
-----------
Bob has served 10 years on the Haymarket Town Council, 12 years on the Haymarket Planning Commission and numerous stints on several budget committees and community groups.
