Dr. Richmond Hill is the Provost of the Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) Woodbridge Campus, bringing a wealth of experience in student support services and educational leadership. Prior to his current role, he served as Associate Vice President of Student Support Services at NOVA, where his passion for mental health advocacy and student success shaped his approach to institutional leadership.
Professional Experience
With a distinguished career spanning K-12 and higher education, Dr. Hill has held key positions in Prince William County Public Schools, including Supervisor of Secondary Counseling and Student Support Services, Director of School Counseling, GED Program Administrator, and School Counselor. In addition to his Associate Vice President role, in higher education he has worked as a Counselor, High School Outreach Coordinator, Retention Counselor, and Coordinator of Student Success, always focusing on fostering academic achievement and personal growth.
Community Leadership
A dedicated advocate for community engagement, Dr. Hill has been an active leader in numerous regional and state initiatives. He is a graduate of the 2023 Leadership Prince William class and has served as past-president of the Prince William Regional Counseling Association. He has served on various advisory councils and nonprofit boards, including the PWCS Career and Technical Advisory Council, the PWCS Safe Schools Advisory Council, the Greater Prince William Trauma-Informed Care Network, and Northern Virginia Family Service.
At the state level, he has contributed to Project Hope-Virginia, supporting the educational success of children and youth experiencing homelessness. His leadership in mentoring and professional development programs has had a lasting impact, particularly in advancing opportunities for young men of color.
Recognized as a thought leader, consultant, and researcher in educational equity, mental health, teacher evaluation, student retention, and expanding pathways to college, Dr. Hill continues to make significant contributions through service, innovation, and strategic collaboration.
Education
He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in counselor education from North Carolina State University, followed by his doctoral degree in higher education administration from The George Washington University.
Erwin Reyna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), veteran, and founder of Holistic Functional Wellness Center, PLLC. Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and raised in the Bronx, New
York, Erwin’s journey is rooted in resilience, service, and a deep commitment to empowering others. Coming from a low-income immigrant family, he witnessed firsthand the sacrifices required to create opportunity, which continues to shape his work today.
At 18, Erwin enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served for 12 years. His military career took him across the globe, including combat operations in Operation Iraqi Freedom. These experiences strengthened his leadership, discipline, and passion for supporting individuals through high-stress and transitional life phases.
Following his military service, Erwin returned to New York City to pursue higher education at Fordham University, where he earned both his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Masters of Social Work with a clinical concentration and leadership focus. During this time, he worked extensively with nonprofit organizations, supporting underserved communities and assisting veterans in their transition to civilian life.
In 2015, Erwin relocated to Alexandria, Virginia, to work with the NFL Players Association, helping professional athletes navigate the transition from the NFL to life beyond sports. He later spent over seven years working in acute care settings, including the Inova Health System and HCA Healthcare, as well as in community-based crisis intervention services across Fairfax County. His clinical work focused on supporting individuals with severe mental health conditions, including adults, adolescents, and children in high-acuity environments.
After obtaining full clinical licensure, Erwin transitioned into private practice, where he continues to provide outpatient mental health services focused on stability, resilience, and long-term wellness. In 2024, he founded Holistic Functional Wellness Center, PLLC, with a mission to integrate mental health care with lifestyle interventions; emphasizing movement, routine, and functional wellness as essential components of healing.
Erwin brings a unique, integrative perspective to his work, combining clinical expertise with lived experience, and remains dedicated to helping individuals achieve sustainable mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Kailyn has dedicated her career to advancing student success. She holds a master’s degree in education and brings five years of experience teaching diverse learners, with a focus on data-informed approaches and expanding equitable access to opportunity. She currently serves as a Program Coordinator with Big Brothers Big Sisters National Capital Area, where she leads initiatives that strengthen mentorship relationships and drive positive outcomes for youth and families. As a first-generation college graduate, Kailyn deeply believes mentorship is one of the most powerful investments we can make in the next generation.
