Bob Pugh, CFA, CFP® is President and Founder of Insight Wealth Management, Inc. (IWM), a rapidly-growing, independent Registered Investment Advisor firm in Gainesville, Virginia. Bob provides fee-only investment management and comprehensive financial planning services to individuals, families and charitable organizations. “Medical Economics” has named him one of the Best Financial Advisors for Doctors in the nation since 2011. He is a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor. Previously, Bob worked as a senior financial analyst with the Prince William County Government, as an economic analyst with the Central Intelligence Agency, and as director of investment research with another firm.

Bob is a leader in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) community; elected twice from 2005 to 2007 as President of the then 1,700 member CFA Society of Washington, DC, the leading organization representing investment professionals in the area, and elected in 2009 as Eastern U.S. Region Presidents Council Representative with the CFA Institute.

His experience as a professional educator includes nine years as a member of the practitioner faculty with The Johns Hopkins University’s Carey School of Business and School of Medicine teaching graduate-level courses in investment analysis, portfolio management, and corporate finance, and continuing education in the Business of Medicine program. Bob has taught CFA Exam review since 1998 in the U.S. and globally and currently teaches the Level III CFA exam review courses for the CFA Society of Washington, DC and the World Bank.

Bob has graduate degrees in global political economy from The Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies, and in financial economics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

As a community volunteer, Bob is currently one of Prince William County’s representatives on the Board of the Health Systems Agency of Northern Virginia (HSANV), and a member of the HSANV Executive Board. He is a Lay Speaking Minister in the Virginia United Methodist Conference (CUMC). Bob manages the endowment investment portfolios of CUMC and Manassas-based Medical Missionaries pro bono. Bob is a testing proctor with the Washington, DC chapter of Mensa, and served previously as Testing Coordinator and Public Outreach Director for Mensa in Washington, DC. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Washington, DC, the National Association for Business Economics, the Financial Planning Association, the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, and Mensa.
