Chief Steve Hudson is the commanding officer of the Prince William County Police Department, and is committed to providing efficient and interactive police service to the residents of Prince
William County. Chief Hudson is responsible for the planning and direction of all Department activities, and is the final authority in all matters of policy operations and discipline.

Biography
Stephan (Steve) M. Hudson has been a member of the Prince William County Police Department since 1982. Prior to his appointment as Chief of Police in February 2013, he was an Assistant
Chief of Police since 2008, serving over the Operations and Criminal Investigations Divisions; he previously served as the Commander of the Vice/Narcotics (now Special Investigations), Internal
Affairs, and Special Operations Bureaus. Prior to his first promotion, he served for 13 years in officer and detective positions.
Chief Hudson is a graduate of American Public University with a master’s degree in Criminal Justice. In addition, he has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from National-Louis
University. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy; the Professional Executive Leadership School at the University of Richmond; and the Police Executive Research Forum's Senior
Management Institute for Police.
Chief Hudson is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the FBI National Academy Alumni, the Police Executive Research Forum, and the Virginia Police Chiefs
Foundation, among others.
