Abigail Spanberger has always served her country and community. She began her career of public service as a federal law enforcement officer working narcotics and money laundering cases with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

Following her love of country, public service, and languages, Abigail joined the CIA as a case officer. She worked undercover her entire time at the Agency — collecting intelligence, managing assets, and overseeing high-profile programs to combat terrorism and keep Americans safe.

In 2014, Abigail left government service to begin a career in the private sector and bring her family back home to Virginia. When she saw partisan politics and division threatening the country she dedicated her life to defend, Abigail decided to run for Congress.

In 2018, she became the first Democrat since 1968 to be elected to represent Virginia’s 7th Congressional district. In the U.S. House, Abigail serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and House Agriculture Committee. Her top priorities include strengthening our country’s national security and fighting for Virginia families by lowering prescription drug costs, creating jobs, and cleaning up Washington.

Abigail has consistently been ranked as the most bipartisan Member of Congress from Virginia — as well as the one of the most bipartisan Members of Congress overall.

Abigail grew up in Henrico County. She attended J.R. Tucker High School’s Spanish immersion program and is a proud graduate of the University of Virginia. After college, Abigail moved to Germany and earned her MBA from a dual-degree German-American program between the GISMA business school and Purdue University. Abigail and her husband Adam are parents to three daughters.

Abigail’s career has been defined by public service. She first swore an oath to the U.S. Constitution as a federal agent with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. In this role, she investigated money laundering and narcotics cases — including at the southern border. Then, as a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) case officer, she worked at home and abroad to collect intelligence, keep our country safe from terrorism, and inform policymakers in their national security decisions. Following her time at CIA, Abigail joined the private sector and helped American colleges and universities diversify their student bodies, expand opportunities for Americans entering the workforce, and increase graduation rates.

Supervisor Yesli Vega is a military wife, mother, former police officer and a Prince William County Sheriff’s Deputy who has dedicated her life to public service.

Born in Texas, Supervisor Vega moved with her family to Northern Virginia at the age of five. It was here that her mother and father taught her the invaluable lessons of hard work, faith in God, and love for the greatest country on His green earth.

Following a family tragedy, Supervisor Vega witnessed firsthand the impact that local law enforcement and first responders have in the service and protection of our local communities. Inspired by their heartfelt courage, and thankful for keeping her family intact, Supervisor Vega made a commitment to give back and joined the Alexandria, Virginia, Police Department, and later the Manassas Park Police Department.

As a Patrol Officer, Supervisor Vega found herself in various split second, life and death situations that our law enforcement faces every day. In addition to working the “street beat”, she also became a Field Training Officer, was a certified Hostage Negotiator, and member of the Crisis Intervention Team.

In 2012, Supervisor Vega temporarily left the world of law enforcement to accompany her husband, Rene (a U.S. Army Veteran), and their two children, during his deployment to South Korea.

In addition to her career in law enforcement, Supervisor Vega has served the Prince William community as a mentor to at-risk youth through the Cal Ripken Foundation’s “Badges for Baseball” program. She has also coached her daughter’s youth soccer teams at Northern Virginia Soccer Club, volunteered with Special Olympics and Santa Cops.

Supervisor Vega is a graduate of American Military University and the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy.
