Professional Bio for

Andrea Eck

Director of Housing

Northern Virginia Family Service

 

Andrea Eck has worked in the non-profit human service field for 18 years and has been an employee of Northern Virginia Family Service since 2001.  She has held a number of positions from direct service to management - providing services and administering programs for low-income individuals and families. 

As the Client Services Manager for the Survivors' Fund Project from 2004 to 2008, she provided direct supervision to a team of case managers working with victims and survivors of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon and the distribution of over 20 million dollars in direct assistance to aid in clients return to self-sufficiency.  As the Director of Quality Improvement, Mrs. Eck was responsible for consistency in service delivery, strategic planning and evaluation across the agency. As the Director of SERVE, she was responsible for the campus of programs including the agency's 92 bed family shelter, a full continuum of housing programs in Prince William County and emergency assistance programs distributing over $200,000 in financial assistance and nearly 2 million dollars in recovered food annually.

In March 2013 Andrea became the Director of Housing Services and currently oversees all agency Housing Programs including the full continuum of emergency financial assistance, shelter, rapid re-housing, transitional, permanent supportive, affordable rentals, eviction prevention, community based housing and subsidy programs across Northern Virginia.  An active member of both the Fairfax and Prince William County Continuums of Care, Andrea chairs the Coordinated Intake Committee providing strategic leadership in Prince William County’s efforts to meet the critical goals outlined by the HEARTH Act. 

Andrea has a BA in Psychology from Marymount University in Arlington, VA and a Masters in Public Administration and Non-Profit Management from George Mason in Fairfax, VA.
